Résumé de la thèse

The focus of my interest is the role of social media in US presidential campaign. Being an open stage of visual and textual attacks produced from bottom-up mass movements, Facebook grew for the last decade into a powerful alternative to official broadcasting sources. In my thesis I attempt to scrutinize a particular intertextual mechanism of post creation, namely the imitation of various genre forms as a strong means of persuasion. The analysis is therefore aimed at revealing how prototypical genre patterns are incorporated into posts as well as discussing the communicative purposes and effects of these creative multimodal forgings.
